Volunteers from the Budleigh Information Centre were delighted to attend the February Ambassador Meeting of the newly formed East Devon National Landscape.
The meeting celebrated over 20 years of work by the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) team, which in November 2023 officially became part of the National Landscapes. There will be 46 National Landscapes (NLP's) in the UK covering 14% of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Ambassador meeting on 14th February 2024 was an opportunity for the BIC to learn more about the new East Devon NLP and the fact that the new name aims to reflect the national importance of the AONBs and what the existing team have achieved to preserve and enhance the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the area.
