​Beach hut booking availability

  • WEEKLY RENTALS available from Saturday (10:30am) to Saturday (10:00am). 
    Keys can be collected from 10:30am and must be returned before 10 am the following Saturday.
  • WEEKDAY / WEEKEND RENTALS available on certain huts. 
    Keys can be collected from 10:30am on the first day of hire and must be returned before 10 am the day after the last day of hire.  Saturday / Sunday hire must be for the full weekend - please ensure your selected hire period does not end on a Saturday or start on a Sunday.  The Weekly rate does not apply to huts offering Weekday / Weekend hire.
  • SAME DAY HIRE - Please contact Budleigh Information Centre on 01395 445275 to ask about availability, or call into the Centre.
  • RENTAL SEASON - runs from April until October
  • KEY COLLECTION - Budleigh Information Centre: 14 Fore Street, Budleigh Salterton, Devon EX9 6NG from 10:30am until 4:00pm.
  • OPENING HOURS - Monday to Saturday 10am until 4pm - If you cannot collect the key within these hours please Contact Us.
  • KEY Drop-off - keys must be returned to the Budleigh Information Centre, outside opening times they can be dropped into the letter box, (preferably in a small bag or envelope).

* The Weekly rate only applies to huts described as being available for WEEKLY hire.  Please be aware that when searching for weekly rental, your results may include WEEKDAY / WEEKEND huts that are charged at Weekday and Weekend rates.


Before you use the online booking system: Important information to read

  1. Weekly bookings: are from Saturday check in 10.30am-4pm to Saturday morning before 10.30am, but please put in SAT to FRI dates into the FROM and TO fields.
  2. ​Daily bookings: please put the same date for FROM and TO if just a single day booking required.
  3. Guests: please leave as 1 guest no matter how large your party is.
  4. Beach hut details: you can view these by clicking on the hut titles. 
    ​If you wish to book that hut, please return to your search. You can do this either by clicking on the 'search' magnifying glass at the top of the booking system, or by using the back arrow on the top left hand corner of your browser window. Then, please enter/re-enter your dates and book your hut!
  5. Your email address: Please check carefully when entering your own email address during the booking process as this will be used for all booking correspondence and confirmations etc.
  6. T&Cs and more information: detailed below.
  7. Weekly prices: If a Weekday/Weekend Beach Hut is booked for a whole week the cost will be the Weekday fee x 5 plus the Weekend fee NOT the Weekly Price. The Weekly price only applies to the Weekly Beach Huts.
  8. Sundays - Please do not attempt to book a rental period starting on a Sunday.  The Budleigh Information Centre is closed on Sunday so key collection is not available.
  9. Weekday / Weekend huts - Please do not end your booking period on a Saturday.  If booking a Saturday, the full weekend should be booked, so please also select Sunday.  
  10. Same Day Hire:  Please contact the Budleigh Information Centre for same day availability, or call into the Centre.

ONLINE BOOKINGS FOR 2026 ARE EXPECTED TO GO LIVE IN FEBRUARY.

Hut facilities

  • There is short stay parking close to the hut location - useful for loading and unloading
  • Long stay parking is a few hundred yards away in the Lime Kiln Car Park


​Terms and conditions

Terms and Conditions for hire of beach huts at Budleigh Salterton
CONDITIONS OF HIRE
  1. Proof of Payment must be produced on collection of the key.
  2. The hut shall be solely used by the hirer or their family/friends and shall not be sub-let.
  3. The hut is let subject to East Devon District Council being indemnified against all claims in respect of the use thereof and they will not be answerable for any loss or damage in connection therewith.
  4. The hirer shall be required to pay for any damage they may cause to the beach hut or any council property contained therein.
  5. The hut shall not be occupied between the hours of midnight and 6:00am.
  6. The hut shall not be used for any trade or business or calling of any kind.
  7. The hirer of the hut shall not cause or permit any public or private nuisance in or upon the premises or anything which cause annoyance, inconvenience or disturbance to the occupier of the neighbouring huts or to the public.
  8. East Devon District Council reserves the uncontrolled right to remove huts from any site if, in the opinion of the Streetscene Manager weather conditions or circumstances so require.
  9. The exact siting of the hirer’s preferred hut cannot be guaranteed.
  10. Refunds will not be made for any cancellation due to inclement weather.
  11. No more than one propane, butane or similar gas cylinder, to a maximum size of 5 kilograms, may be stored in the hut. Any gas cylinders stored shall only be used in accordance with manufacturer’s or supplier’s recommendations and the main cylinder valve shall be kept fully closed when not in use. Additionally, persons intending to use any type of gas appliance must provide a suitable fire blanket which must be hung in an appropriate place within the beach hut.
  12. In the event of the hirer failing to comply with these conditions as to which the decision of the district council shall be final, the District Council reserves the right to determine the letting of the hut at any time.
  13. Deckchairs inside the Beach Huts are provided by East Devon District Council. Budleigh information Centre has no control over their condition and accepts no liability regarding their use.
  14. If a Weekday / Weekend hire period has been booked to end on a Saturday, an additional payment may be requested for the full weekend hire before keys are issued.
DATA PROTECTION
​Any data provided in relation to Beach Hut hire will be used only for the administration of beach hut hire and will not be retained for any longer than necessary.
