The Budleigh Salterton Annual Town Meeting was held on Wednesday 15th March 2023.   The meeting was well attended and everyone was welcomed to the meeting by the Town Mayor, Cllr Michael Hilliar.   The meeting included an update on the Lower Otter Restoration Project (LORP) from the guest speakers, Dr Sam Bridgewater and Kelly Cowling.  Sam is the Head of Wildlife and Conservation at Clinton Devon Estates and Kelly is the Stakeholder Manager at Kier, who have been undertaking all the work.
Reports were also tabled from the Chairman of the Town Council and the following Committees:  Planning; Finance; Public Hall; Foreshore and Footpaths; Community Gardens; Community Infrastureture Levy; Traffic Group; Emergency Group and Climate Change Group.  Further reports were available from our County Councillor, Mrs C Channon and the District Councillors – AJ Dent, PM Jarvis and TD Wright.

Finally, after a welcome break of tea and biscuits, everyone was interested to hear from the Cricket Club and how their fundraising was progressing for their new club house – keep on eye on their website https://www.budleighcc.co.uk/ for further information.

The Budleigh Information Centre (BIC) was delighted to welcome members of the Town Council for an evening reception on Wednesday 15th February.   
The event was well attended and Councillors were thanked for their kind financial help towards the Coronation Street Party being held in May. 
They also enjoyed a series of presentations from the volunteers including  information on the history of the BIC, current funding, the rebranding to Love Budleigh and plans for the future.  They were impressed by the BIC's new website and how this gave local organisations the opportunity to promote their businesses and to showcase events to both local people and visitors to the town. 
​Volunteers emphasised how much they enjoyed helping at the Centre, meeting new people and feeling part of the local community and groups.
The evening concluded with some questions from the Councillors who understood that although volunteers keep it open, regular funding was required for a more secure future.
