Entertainment came from St Peters school children, Honiton Twirlstar Majorettes, the Exmouth Town Crier, Father and Mother Christmas, Charlotte the singer at buskers’ corner, the Exmouth Ladies Acapella Group and the East Devon Rock Choir.
Team Rollocks the Atlantic rowing team bought their boat Liberty, and Exmouth Fire Station came with their fire engine before having to make a quick exit through the crowded High Street to attend an incident.
Santa was in his grotto to give children a gift. Shops were decorated and open to welcome the crowds. It was a truly wonderful evening that brought the community together to shop and be merry.
The Love Budleigh team at the Budleigh Information Centre organised the event with support from Shop Budleigh. Their thanks go to all the entertainers and groups who came along to make it such a special night, for Upham’s Antiques for providing Santa’s grotto and to Sampson’s butchers for sponsoring the East Devon Rock Choir. Special thanks goes to the town’s shops who stayed open and gave such a warm welcome to the all the late-night shoppers.
Thank you for all the shoppers for coming along to support our lovely shops and join in the entertainment - you really did make the town sparkle with festive cheer!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
