Tucked away in the peaceful surroundings of Woodbury Common, just a short drive from the beaches of Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth, and within easy reach of Exeter, Castle Brake offers the perfect balance of countryside calm and coastal adventure. 


Family-owned and run; the park has a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can truly unwind. Whether you’re pitching up under the stars, glamping in comfort or relaxing in one of our modern holiday homes, we do our best to make sure every stay is easy-going and enjoyable. 


Castle Brake is perfectly placed for exploring East Devon’s beautiful countryside and coastline. Spend the day walking or cycling across Woodbury Common, exploring nearby towns and villages, or heading to the coast for a day at the beach. From rock pooling and sea swims to coastal walks and family attractions, there’s plenty to see and do nearby. 

The historic city of Exeter is also within easy reach, offering great shopping, dining and cultural experiences. With excellent road and rail links, Castle Brake is simple to get to, but feels a world away once you arrive. 

Stay Your Way
​At Castle Brake, you have the freedom to choose the kind of stay that suits you best. Our range of well-equipped holiday homes is ideal for families, with fully fitted kitchens and spacious living areas so you can enjoy mealtimes together. Many of our homes are also dog-friendly, so your four-legged friends can join in the fun too. 
If you love the idea of being outdoors but prefer a little extra comfort, our Orchard Pods are a great glamping option. Cosy, convenient and perfect for all seasons; they make a lovely base for couples or families looking to experience nature without the fuss of traditional camping. 
For guests who need extra accessibility, The Maple Holiday Home has been designed with wheelchair users in mind, featuring ramped access and a fully equipped wet room for a comfortable and easy stay. 
For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, we offer two mainly level touring and camping fields with a choice of hard-standing or grass pitches. All have access to water, electricity and grey water drainage, so you can enjoy the simple pleasures of camping with added convenience.

Facilities and Dining

While Castle Brake is a smaller, more peaceful park, our facilities are thoughtfully designed and maintained to a very high standard. Woods Bar & Restaurant offers a warm welcome each evening, serving delicious home-cooked meals made with locally sourced ingredients. You can choose to dine inside or out on the terrace, and our regularly changing specials mean there’s always something new to try. 
The modern amenity block includes family bathrooms, accessible facilities, underfloor heating, and a launderette. There’s also a children’s play park, a playing field and a nature trail to spot local wildlife. Clean, quiet and friendly, Castle Brake is a place where you can truly relax. 
Guests are also welcome to visit our sister park, Ladram Bay, just a short drive away. There, you can enjoy the use of additional facilities, including the swimming pool complex, entertainment and private beach. Please ask our team for details and information about any applicable costs.
