We are a friendly group of retired professional and business men with a wide range of occupations and interests. We meet twice a month at the Budleigh Salterton Football Club to socialise and hear a variety of speakers covering a diverse range of subjects, recently including, “ Scriptwriting for a host of well known British comedians, to Paddle Boarding around the coast of Britain and the Impact of Climate Change on the Solomon Islands and their inhabitants”.


We regularly have lunches following the meetings also held at the football club. The club also arranges outings for members and their wives and friends to places of interest and luncheons twice a year at venues such as the Victoria Hotel in Sidmouth.

We continued to meet via Zoom during the Covid lockdowns, keeping the club open to meetings whilst face to face meetings were not possible.

About us

  • Meetings are held at the Budleigh Salterton Football Club every 1st and 3rd Thursday from September to June.
  • The clubhouse is open from 10.00am for teas and coffees, meetings commence at 10.45am and include a talk from a guest speaker and conclude at midday, drinks are available from the bar following the meeting.
  • Lunches for members are held at the clubhouse every 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Luncheons with wives and partners are held twice a year, usually at one of the Sidmouth hotels.
  • Days outings pre covid, included, The Britannia Naval College Dartmouth, the Met Office Exeter and Burrow Farm Gardens near Honiton. Outings are due to resume in 2022.
