Home Instead Exeter & East Devon is owned and operated by Budleigh based husband and wife team, Mark and Vanessa McGlade.


We offer specialist domiciliary support in the comfort of home, across our East Devon community, Exeter included. Home Instead opened its doors in 2011, with the goal of providing the very best home care in Devon and of becoming the employer of choice within the sector: an ambition fulfilled following our ‘5 Star Outstanding in all areas’ CQC rating and '5 Star Employer' awards.


Tailor-made home care visits last a minimum of 1 hour and are provided by highly trained Care Professionals, individually matched to Client's, enabling us to provide “the Rolls Royce of care” (according to one of our clients!).


Mark and Vanessa also strive to be the care employer of choice and offer a range of opportunities for professional careers in care, with fully funded training options to suit.

Based in Budleigh Salterton and with a Training & Development Centre in nearby Clyst St Mary, the team at Home Instead offer an exceptional service to the Exeter and East Devon community.

Working alongside healthcare professionals such as GP's, Community Nurses, Admiral Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, we liaise regularly in order to provide the best all round support.

Care is provided by our highly trained Care Professionals - each of them fully licensed, insured and having passed an enhanced DBS check. We select only the very best - in fact we recruit less than 1 in 10 of those who apply to work with us at Home Instead. Those that do join our team are able to benefit from excellent rates of pay and fully funded training options, which are ongoing and encouraged, with pathways in care and/or management.

Community is key to us, and we work tirelessly to support the local events, groups and organisations that benefit us all. We aim to raise awareness and improve the outlook for members of our community via our regular, free Community Talks, on topics such as Dementia Awareness, Nutrition in Older Age, Scams Awareness, First Aid and Basic Life Support, Choosing the Right Care, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's and more.

Home Instead are delighted to offer a variety of FREE community talks and presentations for you, your organisation or group. Our ethos is to enlighten, engage and educate through informative, lively sessions which we are able to deliver at a venue of your choice*, at our own Training Suite* or via video conferencing.
