East Budleigh Scarecrow Festival is back for 2026!
View the imaginative display of scarecrows created by our village residents
using their wit, invention and recycling skills.
There will be plenty of activities and refreshments to enjoy with the Village Hall at the heart of the event, where refreshments, including bacon rolls and cream teas, will be on sale between 11am and 4pm each day, along with a variety of stalls featuring local crafts and activities, cakes, pre-loved books, and plants.
Don’t miss East Devon Rock Choir performing on Saturday and there will be musical entertainment on Sunday by our popular local performers.
The Scarecrow Festival would not be the same without the ‘Roger Conant Duck Race’. Choose your racer ready for the sprint from ‘East Budleigh’ to ‘Salem’ to win a cash prize. And if you don’t win on Saturday, don’t worry, there’s another chance on Sunday!
Some wonderful local businesses are supporting this fundraising event and have
generously provided great prizes to be won in our raffle, held on both days. Grateful thanks go to Gilbert Stephens Solicitors for their sponsorship of the festival.
Got a head for heights? If so, there will be a chance to go up the All Saints church bell tower to admire the beautiful countryside around the village. You can also try your hand at bellringing on both afternoons between 2 and 4pm.
Also at the church, there will be a display of knitted garments being prepared to send to Moldova and Ukraine with the charity CR2EE.
Dog owners, don’t forget to join in at midday on Sunday at the Recreation Field for the East Budleigh Dog Show. There will also be an impressive display of classic cars and rally cars down at East Budleigh Garage.
The event will close with a Songs of Praise service in All Saints Church at 6pm on Sunday evening.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy! Please bring cash so that you can join in all the fun. (£1 for car parking on the recreation ground)
