'Know Before You Go' Water Quality Updates
The website is designed to help residents and vistors make informed decisions before entering the water, and is sponsored by Budleigh Salterton Town Council.
Water testing is carried out every weekend, normally on a Friday evening, and the results are available around 30 minutes after sampling. The readings are taken from samples collected at Lime Kiln and Steamer Steps.
The website clearly shows the water quality for the latest reading at both locations and the date and time the sample was taken. For extra information, a graph shows the water quality results for the last 10 readings.
A simple traffic light system is used to show the risk level:
Green - Low Risk
Amber - Moderate Risk
Red - High Risk
Please note that results reflect the water quality at the time of sampling, and conditions can change quickly due to rainfall, tides, river flow and weather.
The OVA website also includes a link to the Swimfo water quality results reported by the Environment Agency.
The Water Quality, Weather, Tide Times page on Love Budleigh has been updated to include a link to the new OVA website. Our grateful thanks to the volunteers of the OVA who maintain the new OVA website and publish the water quality results for the benefit of locals and visitors to Budleigh Beach.
