Students thanked for participating in local event
A few of the volunteers at Budleigh Information Centre, also known as Love Budleigh, visited Bicton College Military and Protective Services Academy on Wednesday 18th March 2026.
Alan Tilbury, Sarah Coles and Karen Mallard presented Certificates of Participation to the students who had kindly helped marshal the road closure during Budleigh’s Christmas Late Night Shopping event on Friday 28th November 2025.
The students and their tutor, Bryony Smith, ensured the road closures were efficiently managed, keeping the crowds in the town centre safe while they enjoyed the evening entertainment and late night shopping. Afterwards, the students made light work of returning all cones and road signs back to Budleigh Information Centre so all roads could be re-opened as quickly as possible.
Christmas Late Night Shopping is an annual event organised by Love Budleigh and Shop Budleigh. It can be difficult getting the required number of volunteers to man the road closures on a cold winter’s evening, so the organisers are very grateful for the academy’s support and to have the opportunity to officially thank the students for their participation.
The town's next Christmas Late Night Shopping will be on Friday 27th November 2026.
